End User License Agreement

Restroom Pass System · Version 2 · John Place

Important — read carefully. This Agreement is a legal contract between you (an individual teacher or authorized user) and John Place, developer of the Restroom Pass System ("Software"). By purchasing, activating, or using the Software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. License Grant

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Version 2 of the Software for personal classroom use on one classroom computer at a time. This license is granted to one individual end user — typically one teacher. It does not authorize district-wide, school-wide, or multi-classroom use unless a separate site license is purchased in writing.

2. License Types (Version 2)

Future major releases (Version 3, 4, etc.) are separate products and require a new purchase. Bug fixes within your licensed version are included at no charge.

3. Intellectual Property

The Software — including code, design, interface, audio, and structure — is owned by John Place. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, repackage, or create derivative works.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

5. School & District Use

If you represent a school, district, or organization and intend to use the Software beyond one teacher's classroom, you must obtain written permission or purchase an appropriate multi-user or site license before use. Unauthorized organizational use may result in license termination and legal action.

6. License Verification & Student Data

The Software may connect to the internet to verify your license and registration. This communication is limited to licensing purposes only — it does not upload, sync, or transmit student information.

Student data stays on your classroom computer. Classroom data — including rosters, student names and IDs, pass logs, schedules, QR badge data, and settings — is stored locally on the teacher's device (browser local storage on that computer). It is not stored on PlaceForTeachers servers, cloud databases, or any third-party hosting service.

Place For Teachers does not collect, access, host, or share student information with any third party. You are responsible for securing the classroom computer where the Software runs, just as you would with any local gradebook or roster file.

7. Device Transfer

You may move your license to a replacement classroom device only after completely removing the Software from the prior device. Sharing one license across multiple active installations is not permitted.

8. Support & Updates

Bug fixes for Version 2 are included during your license term (annual) or for the life of Version 2 (lifetime). New major versions with substantial new features require a separate purchase.

9. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. John Place does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every device or browser.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOHN PLACE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE.

11. Anti-Piracy

This Software is licensed only to the original purchaser. The Software may contain markers that identify the licensed user. Violations — including license sharing, tampering, or unauthorized distribution — may result in immediate license termination, permanent ban from updates, and legal action where warranted.

12. Termination

This Agreement remains in effect until terminated. Your license ends automatically if you violate any term. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the Software from your device(s).

13. Refund Policy

All sales are final. No refunds are issued after the Software or license key has been delivered.

14. Changes to This Agreement

John Place may update this Agreement for new versions or at any time. Continued use after updated terms are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

15. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Broward County, Florida.
